Tri to Beat Cancer and 70.3 Worlds

Tri to Beat Cancer

This is a race I won last year that I really wanted the chance to do again. It fell on a big IM training week and I had quite the ride the day prior. My splits were not quite as fast as last year, but I was smiling the whole time and very happy to be “racing” again. In the end, it was enough, and I managed to come in first.

70.3 Worlds

This race was all about the experience and the company. I really wanted to have fun, not hurt myself, and not get too deep in the hole three weeks before Chat. Those sound like lame fear-based goals, but they didn’t feel like that to me. It’s not about busting into uncharted territory for me yet, it’s about building back while keeping a positive attitude.

The experience definitely did not disappoint. We had such an awesome, fun group and stayed in a big house with everyone. The added bonus of having my parents there was amazing too. Mont Tremblant was beautiful and I can see why everyone raves about it. I would love to come back and either do the half or full sometime!

This is probably one of my first ever race smiling pics!

Even smiling on the run! We had a run bet with Tim Myers involving the consumption of poutine. My run was not there, therefore I still owe him eating a plate of poutine. Hopefully we can make a double or nothing bet the next go round so I can avoid eating it!

This pic is not relevant to either, but it’s just a fun EL pic that I wanted to post.
