QOTW: Tips for Registration Season

It’s registration season! With the popularly of many of today’s events, especially IRONMAN events, you often have to register a year to several months in advance to claim your spot. The recent announcement of Chattanooga 70.3 led many to ask the question: How can I get in to a nearly sold out event? While I am neither an IRONMAN employee nor an Active employee, my husband and I do have a hundred percent success rate in getting into events which typically have sold out in five minutes or less including IRONMAN Wisconsin (both of us) and IRONMAN Florida (two times each including the time when it sold out in less than a minute). I figure this makes me as much an expert as anyone!

Registration for IRONMAN’s events are administered through Active.com. Active manages registration for thousands of events. If you’ve done a local 5k, you’ve likely used it before.

1. Set up your account– If you haven’t used Active before it is imperative that you have your account and details filled in prior to race day.
